Internationally Acclaimed Performers Announced For Harrogate Music Festival 2024

Harrogate International Festivals has announced a stellar line-up for the Harrogate Music Festival which is back with a bang this summer.

This year’s Festival, which runs from June 8 to July 13, features an array of spectacular musical talent with artists from the worlds of classical, jazz, soul and dance music taking to the stage in Harrogate.

The renowned City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), returning to Harrogate for the first time in more than a decade, will launch the Festival with an opening night performance at the Royal Hall on June 8.

As well as the CBSO, under the expert baton of Ludovic Morlot, this summer’s classical music line-up includes rising star of the violin world Esther Abrami, who will perform traditional classical repertoire alongside works from her new album, Cinéma, a collection of her favourite film and animé soundtracks, at The Crown Hotel.

Acclaimed guitar and violin duo Plínio Fernandes and Braimah Kanneh-Mason, part of the legendary musical family, will bring the Festival – now in its 59th year – to a close on July 13 in what promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Among the many other highlights in this carefully curated programme are the critically acclaimed choral group Apollo5, described as “faultless” by BBC Music Magazine, and the US-based Grand Symphonic Winds, who will both be performing in the stunning, atmospheric setting of St Wilfrid’s Church.

Festival legends Oddsocks make a welcome return to RHS Harlow Carr (July 2 and 3) where they will perform Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in their own brilliant and inimitable way.

Elsewhere, the hugely talented Gildas and Maxwell Quartets will both perform in the Spiegeltent – which makes a welcome return from June 28 to July 7 after a two-year break.

Acclaimed British jazz singer Jo Harrop, who has worked with the likes of Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart and Gloria Gaynor, is back by popular demand at the Spiegeltent, where Bradford-based dance company Punjabi Roots and soul singer Mica Sefia are among the talented new performers.
