One of Europe’s most exciting opera stars is coming to Leeds for a rare UK recital outside London.

The French singer Marianne Crebassa will perform at the Leeds Song Festival in a special concert with leading British pianist and Festival Director Joseph Middleton.

Crebassa is a regular star at many of the world’s biggest opera houses and festivals, including performances in Paris, Berlin and Salzburg. Her appearance in Leeds offers Yorkshire audiences a rare chance to hear the celebrated mezzo-soprano up close in the more intimate setting of a song recital.

The concert will feature a colourful programme of beautiful and dramatic songs, including music by French composers Debussy and Ravel, alongside Gustav Mahler’s powerful and emotional song cycle Kindertotenlieder.

The recital is a rare opportunity for audiences outside of London to hear one of the world’s most admired singers in person.

The concert forms part of the Leeds Song Festival, which brings internationally renowned performers to the city for a celebration of song and music.
