Katrina Leskanich is best known as the lead vocalist of Katrina & The Waves. Katrina & The Waves are best known for the epic hit Walking On Sunshine, while they also provided the UK with their last Eurovision win way back in 1997 with the classic Love Shine A Light. Although there have been many other hits as part of the band, and some very solid releases as a solo artist, it is these two huge anthems that have become her signature songs. All that could change as she releases her latest studio record, Hearts, Loves and Babys.



Hearts, Loves and Babys does not veer to far from the sound that has been the through-line of her recording career. Both within the group and as a soloist, she has consistently delivered epic anthems that are effortless sing-alongs with riotous choruses. Album opener Drive and the stunning Crazy Mama are just two of the highlights.

Yet as the title suggests there are some more tender moments within the mix, which really showcase the softer edge of Katrina's irresistible vocal. The lush Move On is a real magical moment.

Taking a leaf out of Ace of Base's book, the seasonal sounding Holiday is in fact a universally related festive feast - released a few months early. But if Dolly can do it, why can't Katrina?

All in all Hearts, Loves and Babys is a well balanced collection of songs that stay true to Katrina's sound. Get ready to sing your heart out.
