Lithuania has come a very long way since they debuted at Eurovision in 1994- After entering with the song Lopšinė mylimai, Ovidijus Vyšniauskas sadly saw the country's debut achieve nul points. Having since appeared another 24 times, they have an impressive qualification record - with 18 to date. With LT United having peaked for the country back in 2006 with the optimistically titled, We Are The Winners, the hopes this year land at Lion Ceccah's feet. A prominent figure of the drag scene in Lithuania following an appearance of X Factor. Having finished as the runner up last year in the national contest against Parg to represent Lithuania, Lion's chance arrives this year with the dramatic poignancy of Sólo Quiero Más. We caught up with Lion Ceccah ahead of Eurovision to learn a little more.

Hi, first and foremost, how are you?
I'm fine but I could be better. I've had this irritating cold for two weeks, and since I have had no time to rest, it has turned into an ear congestion. So at the moment I'm trying to take care of myself.
What an exciting 2026 so far... You must be thrilled with how it's playing out. What's been the highlight?
So, of course, the highlight was winning the Lithuanian national final!
We absolutely love Solo quiero mas. Tell us a little about the process behind the scenes in creating the song?
Creating the song and stage performance was a journey. I started in October and firstly, I found the melody and words that I created back in the summer of 2024, then I realised I still felt very connected to it. It stemmed from my personal experience and reflecting on the time I questioned my purpose as an artist in Lithuania. Then I started thinking about those words from a collective mindset. And maybe it's very philosophical, but I think we're living in a world that needs more connection. It thus became the search for an anthem representing the main human purpose in life: the desire for more – life, connection, happiness. We are all connected by that, and very often we forget it. So, later I wanted to represent that on stage too. The dark sculpture represents every one of us who is stuck in today's technology prison. The performance is a symbol of finding your own true path despite all the bad things that surround you.
Did you always intend the song for Eurovision?
The draft of this song was created earlier, but when I decided to go to Eurovision I knew this was the one message that I wanted to share.
Have you always been a big fan of Eurovision?
I have been a fan since my early days. It has always been a big celebration for me.
Who is your favourite Eurovision entry of all time?
It has to be Loreen's Euphoria or Bambie Thug's Doomsday Blue.
Lithuania has had a very strong history at Eurovision. Do you have a favourite Lithuanian performance?
My favorite Lithuanian performance is by Monika Liu (Sentimental).
If you had to file it between two other songs, what would they be and why...?
If I had to file my song between two others, it would probably be between Lady Gaga's Abracadabra and FKA twigs' Eusexua.
Who do you feel is your stiffest competition?
I don't want to compete. That's not my purpose. I want to create a spectacle and share it with the world.
What can we expect from your Vienna performance?
You can expect the emotion and the moment.
What is your Eurovision ambition?
My ambition is to unite people.

If you could record with one other Eurovision artist, who would you work with?
I would work with Loreen.
And lastly, aside from Eurovision, what other 2026 plans do you have?
I want to plan a tour and release new songs or even an album!
